How To Book A Tour

To Book Your Tour

• Go to the  Booking Form
• Print the Booking Form on your printer
• Complete & sign the Booking Form & mail it along with your $300 per person deposit check to Knapsack Tours.

• Upon receipt of your Booking Form and deposit check, Knapsack Tours will send to you a Pre-Trip Packet which will include a receipt, tour registration form, liability release, trip cancellation insurance application, a detailed packing list, reading list, maps, travel brochures, pre and post tour hotel suggestions, and detailed information and tips for for getting to and from the trip destination. 
  
• After the Balance Due date and receipt of your full payment check for the tour, KT will send out the final tour documents, which will include a detailed itinerary, lodging list, pre-trip information detailing money, telephone, tips for packing etc., and other helpful information about your tour.
  
• Full payment of the tour cost plus a $25 late fee for bookings after the Balance Due date.
• KT may consider your reservation canceled if the balance due payment is not received by the due date.  Cancellation fees may apply.
•  KT may assess a $25 late fee for payments not received by Balance Due date.

• Tour prices are based on double occupancy lodging.
• Solo travelers will be assigned a roommate of the same gender.
  
•  If we cannot find a roommate for you, a nominal "Solo Fee" will be charged. 
  
• The "Solo Fee" is  $225 for Deserts in Bloom & Telluride, $150 for  Olympic National Park,  $225 for Cinque Terre, Italy,  $375 for Swiss Alps, Tuscany, Provence, & Dordogne, & $275 on all other international tours, including Canada.  There are no singles for Glacier or Yosemite.
  
• A fee called a  "Single Supplement" is charged if you request, in writing, a guaranteed single room.  Please refer to each tour listing on the web site or in  KT's trip flyer for the guaranteed "Single Supplement" fee for each tour.  We are occasionally unable to honor single room requests or may prorate the fee for those days on the tour when a single room  is unavailable.  Single rooms vary in size and layout.  Single rooms in Europe are often smaller than double rooms.
  
• Tour rates do not include transportation to or from trip starting point.
• International tour prices are based on the currency exchange rates as of January of the current brochure year.  In case of significant currency fluctuation (rare), KT reserves the right to revise the trip price.  Please note that KT has yet to invoke this provision over the last 15 years.
  
• KT reserves the right to make changes to departures, itineraries and trip prices.
• On occasion there may be costs for  “optional” entrance fees or other activities.
• KT reserves the right to cancel any tour due to acts of nature and/or any other occurrence.  In the unlikely event that we cancel a tour, you will receive a full refund.  KT is not responsible for any additional expenses incurred by a tour member in relation to a canceled tour (i.e., non-refundable airline tickets or additional lodging).

• With the exception of Yosemite, Glacier, and Olympic National Park tours, all of KT's accommodations have private baths (please note that some private baths consist of showers and others consist of shower/bath arrangements).
• Accommodations often have rooms that vary in size, layout, and style.
• Refer to each trip's Tour Includes section to see meals included.
• Tour members are responsible for all beverages not included with meals.
• KT usually has no problem accommodating special dietary needs, but we cannot guarantee it.
  

• You have a responsibility to select tours appropriate to your ability and health to undertake the trip.
• KT reserves the right to decline tour membership to any person, and/or to refuse service to any current tour member during the tour, when such action, in KT's opinion, is in the best interests of the health and/or safety &/or ambiance of the individual., tour group,  &/or the tour.   Participant may be removed from tour if participant violates any law or state/national park regulation.
  

• You need a valid passport for all international tours including Canada.

• All cancellations must be in writing (fax, email, written note OK).  Cancellation fees will be deducted from your trip payments as follows:

• $100 per person for domestic tours
• $150 per person for International tours including Canada

• Amount of the tour deposit

• No refunds

Good News:

• $75 of the cancellation fee may be applied to a future KT tour taken within 18 months.
• You may transfer your reservation from one trip to another in the same calendar year, provided space is available. To qualify, you must notify KT in writing at least 70 days before your original departure date, after which time our cancellation policy applies.  A transfer fee of $50 per person will be charged.
