The Olympic Peninsula in Northwest Washington State is one of America's best kept wilderness secrets and
Olympic National Park is the crown jewel of the region.   Few places offer such diversity of landscapes in such a compact setting; rugged wilderness beaches where Bald Eagles circle overhead, gorgeous alpine lakes with sweeping views of the glaciated Olympic Mountains, and the only temperate rain forest in the lower 48 states.High above tree line in Olympic National Park

Knapsack's Olympic hiking adventure offers true value for money with  comfortable, double occupancy simple cabin rooms, all meals, naturalist guides, and an incredible setting on the shores of Lake Crescent.  It's July and usually the sunniest time of the year (we've had great weather the past several years).  After an exhilarating day of hiking, we enjoy a delicious dinner followed by an educational evening program by local Native Americans & other park experts.

Each day after breakfast we split into smaller groups and hike some of the most beautiful trails in the park. We'll trek up to a lovely alpine lake followed by a soothing soak in the Sol Duc Hot Springs.  Alpine hikes include the spectacular Klahhane Ridge trail with views all the way to Victoria, British Columbia.  Finally, we'll enjoy a splendid day meandering through a a delightful river valley.
